A stray cat managed to survive near the local drainage ditches in Oklahoma thanks to the help of the homeless community.
People who found themselves in a similar situation without a home and struggling to find food, shared what little they had with the sweet feline.
The cat was spotted one day near a busy road by a concerned foster sponsor with Friends of Metro Animals Shelters who tried to capture her. However, she avoided the strange people trying to help capture her.
The sponsor noticed the cat was very pregnant and after failing to capture her, “sent up a prayer for this soon to be momma to stay safe, warm and fed.”
A few days later, the same sponsor spotted the cat again but this time she was sitting next to a young woman who was petting her. Together, they were able to safely capture her and get her off the streets.

“The young lady was happy to hear there was a rescue who had space available to get this girl off the street, especially since she had had at least three other litters out there, and not all of them made it,” shared the rescue. They decided there was only one name that would fit this sweet cat, Jenny.

“You might ask what we named momma kitty…we named her Jenny, in honor of the helpful young lady who even though she has no home to call her own, she made it her mission to help our sponsor ensure this momma kitty would have one,” they told us.
Jenny the cat is settling in nicely thanks to your generous donations which have provided soft beds, blankets, and nutritious food. She will never go hungry again and will be able to care for all of her soon-to-be-born kittens.

With your continued support, more animals are being saved and cared for across the country. Animal shelters are overcrowded and rely on donations to care for all the homeless animals.
Join us in helping save more lives by donating nutritious food to shelters and rescues.
