Expert-recommended pre-wedding filler options
In Houston dermatologist Jennifer Segal, MD’s opinion, the best fillers to use ahead of a wedding are of the dissolvable hyaluronic acid variety. In Melville, NY dermatologist Kally Papantoniou, MD’s practice, “the most popular refreshers are usually: Under eye tear trough correction with Belotero, lip hydrating and volumizing with Restylane KYSSE and cheek and jawline contouring with Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lyft.” She says, “The outcome is always natural looking and helps the bride-to-be get her glow up.”
How far out to get filler before your wedding
Dr. Segal feels filler should be done well before the wedding or any other bridal events. If you’re new to filler, Dr. Papantoniou suggests starting as early as three to six months in advance “to try it out and provide yourself with plenty of time.” She suggests “avoiding having filler injected less than one month prior to the wedding date” to ensure there is enough time for it to heal and settle before the big day.
Bridal filler tips from top doctors
“Filler should be done very conservatively and well in advance of the wedding or any other preceding events,” says Dr. Segal, “because in all the photos and videos, one does not want to look ‘done’ or different. Fillers should be done to subtly enhance facial shaping and the way the light hits the face, not to fill or eliminate lines and facial contours.” She adds that lips should only be done with caution and very conservatively as well. “The goal is to use fillers to look pretty and refreshed, especially in photos.”
