Marvel Comics has released a brand-new trailer for its eagerly anticipated Ultimates #1. The series will have a new iteration of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in a race against time to fix the Marvel Universe.
Marvel dropped the trailer on YouTube, which reveals a world in desperate need of heroes and fought over by different factions. As the teaser states, the time has come for an ‘Ultimate’ plan of action, and Earth’s heroes must rise to the challenge of rebuilding the universe in two years. The trailer features never-before-seen artwork from Ultimates #1 and Free Comic Book Day2024: Amazing Spider-Man/Ultimate Universe #1. Deniz Camp (Children of the Vault, 20th Century Men) wrote Ultimates with art by Juan Frigeri (Invincible Iron Man).

Marvel’s Ultimates #1 description reads, “Months ago, Tony Stark sent Peter Parker a radioactive spider to set him back on the course to become Spider-Man. Since then, Iron Lad (Stark), Captain America, Doom, Thor, and Sif have begun to do the same for other lost heroes, building a network of super-powered heroes hungry for change. Over two years, they must band together to destroy the Maker’s Council and restore freedom and free will to a world ruled from the shadows.”
Ultimates is the next series to launch following the arrival of UltimateSpider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, and Ultimate X-Men. The titles are part of Marvel’s new Ultimate line, which Jonathan Hickman laid the foundation for. The Ultimate saga began with the Maker, one of the last survivors of the old Ultimate Universe, traveling back in time on a parallel Earth to create a world without heroes. He succeeded and ruled this world in secret through various factions. Presently, the Maker has disappeared, and a quiet war has broken out between entities with different motives for control of his global empire. A young Tony Stark discovers the truth and will attempt to set the world right.

Ultimates Writer Discussed the Project
Series writer Camp is excited about his upcoming Ultimates series, discussing its uniqueness. “The new Ultimates line is the most exciting superhero comics event in years, and it’s humbling to be a part of it. We are reinventing these classic characters and archetypes to be as surprising and vital as when they were first introduced,” he said.
Camp continued, “Our Ultimates is an evolution not just of the Avengers, but of the whole superhero team concept; from the grand and operatic to the small and personal, Ultimates will feel like no Avengers or Ultimates comic ever before. That’s our ambition, anyway; tune in to find out if we succeed.”
Ultimates #1 will arrive in comic book shops on June 5, 2024.
