Glentoran 0-3 Coleraine: ‘We were super at both ends of the pitch’ – Kearney

Kearney continued: “I’m not just pleased with the performance, but with the result.

“We have been involved in a few of these games that just maybe haven’t gone our way and no matter what the performance level is like at this stage and probably on Monday again, it is about getting over the line and getting a result,” he explained.

“We’ve done that with a really good performance too.”

Kearney was keen to applaud the contributions of McGonigle, who was clinical with his two finishes – a near post header and a low shot through the legs of Aaron McCarey – as well as Matthew Shevlin, in helping Coleraine to add a ruthless streak to their game.

“Since January or February time we have really started to look like a threat at the top end of the pitch and that is credit to Jamie and Shevy.

“It was brilliant improvisation from Jamie [for the third goal] to make something out of nothing.”

The Coleraine boss will now turn his attentions to Monday’s final against Crusaders, who beat Carrick Rangers 3-1 at home to reach the decider.

“We know the pedigree Crusaders have. We have plenty of tired legs as well as aches and pains in there, so we will charge the batteries up and go again.”
