Panama-based Copa Airlines became the first operator of the 737-800BCF in Latin America after committing to two conversion slots with Boeing and beginning commercial operations in early 2022. The airline sourced feedstock from its own passenger fleet and ferried unit 33709 to the GAMECO facility in Guangzhou (CAN) in July 2021.

The carrier is evaluating options to grow its 737-800BCF fleet and is willing to look beyond its passenger feedstock.

Alvarez began as a manager for Copa, helping to develop its cargo network from Panama to the United States while strengthening its presence in secondary markets throughout the Americas. Alvarez also manages Copa Cargo’s door-to-door courier service and helped establish the cargo terminal at Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport (PTY).

Cargo Facts LATAM will provide attendees a forum to engage with key decision-makers in the air cargo market in the Latin American region.
