“‘Spontaneous Human Combustion’, no doubt.”
“This song is one of the best on the record. I think it has everything we have to offer as a band- filthy and blistering riffs, an inventive and funky rhythm section, and what I think is the best vocal performance on the album. It’s short and sweet, it leaves you wanting more. Also, I really enjoy the lyrical concept of people exploding into flames at random. It’s crazy to me that ‘SHC’ is something that’s been recorded to happen to people. Pretty fuckin metal.”
“I think ‘SHC’ got beat as a single by ‘Auto-Anthropophagy’ due to that track’s sheer heaviness. It’s hard to top that. ‘Xenomorphic Organ Rearrangement’ likely got the pick due to it standing out from the rest of the record in terms of style. It has a much more melodic and thrashy feel to it compared to the rest of the album. But my vote was always for ‘SHC’ to be the single.”
