I guessed that the BB producers made Riptide the villain before this stream. Reasons: 1: At Riptide's debut season, they were not depicted as such bad individuals, and the start of their villainization is when Hydra stopped being the villain. 2: If they broke the rules they would be DQed lol

I find it hilarious that there was another BattleBot named RipTide before Break 32 came in. Apparently it also did super bad, ahahaha; Didn't compete for long and may not had won any fights.
This RipTide was of course, completely different from Riptide (as in, the one we see now), from the design to the color scheme.

Lots of viewers got caught up in it, because they believe whatever their TV tells them to believe. It was basically Battlebots clickbait— "DID THEY CHEAT???" Obviously not, or they would have been disqualified. On the plus side, the Sorest Loser Trophy has passed from Slammo to Shatter, so good job Adam Wrigley.
Hydra and Riptide… my 2 favorite bots!!! Now that would have been a sweet championship battle! 2 of the highest bot flippers & hitters! You guys put on a good show. Hopefully next year is your year, either of you. I have higher hopes for Fusion also! So much potential in that machine! Just stop lighting on fire!
3:09:00 In their video blog, Zach said that HUGE hit their right side so hard that it broke the wheel mount, gear box and motor, sheering off all the screws holding it in place. When they ran power through that side again, the (now unmounted) motor spun freely inside, shredding all of the internal wiring before the motor EXPLODED which cascaded into a massive electrical failure.
I don't understand why tip speed is an unknown. It doesn't even take a super high speed camera to get a couple of stills and calculate how long one revolution takes. The rest is 8th grade physical science. 250 mph is fast, but it isn't high speed camera fast, they use cameras to track bullet speed which is easily 3+ times as fast and much harder to track.
Why don't they chainlink fence or lexan protect the ceiling/lights? Why do they even allow breaking an overhead light? Same reason with the stupid sign inside the arena wall that keeps getting knocked down. Do they want that damage to happen for production value?
The Whyachi clan took a huge risk by letting members of team Riptide on their show, but it paid off. I and pretty much everyone who were there for the livestream has a whole new perspective on the team.
