Growing up, both my parents were extremely emotionally unavailable. Attention seeking of any kind, (be it over-achievement or mischief) was usually met with punishment or at the very least admonishment at every turn. Despite being gay, I still find it difficult to cuddle with just about anybody. Props to both of them for being so open. I still cant be like that, not even with people I really care about.
i'm thankful that in my country despite all the homophobic violence that still happens sometimes, i never had any issue growing up, in school i was like the star of each school i was in, not ecause i was a proud out fem gay man, just because i was making everybody laugh, and boys and girls were really a lot around me all the time, and a ton of straight friends i had were comfy enough to either want or accept us to cuddle and do little stuff that meant nothing… i dunno why it went well for me, and why it goes so bad for others… maybe if you are shy and have few or not much friend and if you are not confident in yourself, ppl doesn't find this attractive, and that maybe some guys who could have dealt with that with no problem, prefer to play macho man usually just because they are in bands, it's a shame, cos most of the time, if u took these ppl individually they would react otherwise… the group factor VS your confidence is ESSENTIAL imho
