My dad just passed. It's been two weeks now. There hasn't been a day that's past I haven't broken down. I am going through songs now for his memorial now. Every thing has fallen on me being his only child. I just wonder if I'll ever get past the grief.
My sister and her husband just lost their 20 year old son. He was graduating from college with an engineering degree this month, and had called saying he was late because he had picked up the cum laude medal he would wear at graduation. He was killed about a mile and a half from their home. Was excited to begin his new job. So many other wonderful things for his future gone in one tragic moment.
2 children of his own but 4 all together. 31 taken way to soon.
We just lost my father in law 4/20/24. My husband is so hurt losing his best friend. My mother in law is lost without her anchor. I’m so sad to lose the man who has been a second father to me for 12 years. I don’t know how we will make it through this. 2 weeks and it still feels like yesterday.
I lost my mom when I was 11, it’ll be 21 years next month, and I remember just feeling so lost in the world for the first 10 years. My life changed so drastically in one single day. It took me so long to heal enough to just live. I cried most of the day every day for the first 2 years after. Losing your parent is never easy. Having to walk alongside my husband during the first biggest loss of his life is bringing up all my undealt with emotions about my mom’s death, but I know he needs me so much more. I will be by his side for everything life throws our way, but man does it hurt. I never wanted this for him.

I feel like this song not only applies to those loved ones who have passed away, but to also the ones that are still here, and have left our life, for whatever the reason being. So much estrangement these days between grown children and their parents. Sometimes with no explanations. Its a devastating loss, creating a void in your life that does not heal.
