Carlsen Reveals A BRUTAL Anti-Sicilian Opening System | Snyder Variation

Today, I’d like to share with you a simple, beginner-friendly, and aggressive chess opening system for White against the Sicilian Defense: the Snyder Variation, which arises after 1.e4 c5 2.b3.

The main idea behind 2.b3 is to develop the dark-squared bishop to Bb2, fianchetto it, and exert pressure along the b2-h8 diagonal to target the kingside in the long term. Additionally, this move avoids the established theory of the Sicilian Defense, which can otherwise be daunting to learn.

And who better to learn this opening from than Magnus Carlsen himself! Watch the full video lesson to witness how Magnus Carlsen has used this potent opening to defeat a 2600-rated grandmaster.
