It's amazing to see how low key it all started off and how basic the house was compared to the later years when the contestants were also your normal average Joe to how the more outgoing and crazy contestants of later years. Also the launch how they all just strolled in, to the crazy launch nights and them going all in one by one to massive crowds

So weird watching this. Marcus Bentley sounds so understated and muffled, far from his modern 'Deeaaaya threee and joooosie's wiping her arse' type stuff. It's such a vague entry. Some family and people like 'meh' as they walk across a bridge. Young jack the lad Craig cracks the old (ancient) ferrrrtilised (as he says) egg joke. He's almost 50 now! I remember watching this back in 2000. I worked in an office in Leeds and we were obsessed with it. Obsessed. For weeks we'd rarely talk about anything else. The day after Nick's notes were found I actually got up earlier than usual (I started at 6.00) to go in and chat my arse off about what we'd seen. This was in the days when jaws dropped easier and faster than viewing figures or knickers. But now, when you watch it, it seems tame! Have we moved on? o
