The Daily Mail: UK searches for ‘cheap flights to Berlin’ surge 350% after country legalises smoking cannabis

Only in the UK !!

Searches for ‘cheap flights to Berlin’ have surged by 350 per cent after Germany legalised smoking marijuana.

Germany became the biggest EU country to legalise recreational cannabis yesterday, with thousands of Germans flocking to Berlin‘s Brandenburg Gate to light up joints in celebration.

Searches for ‘cheap flights to Berlin from London‘ have gone up by a staggering 350 per cent on this time last week, showing a clear interest in travelling to the German capital following the legalisation of marijuana there.

The decriminalisation of cannabis in the country seems to have piqued the interest of Britons, with an astonishing 3,050 per cent rise in searches of ‘is weed legal in Germany’ over the same period.

The new law will also enable England fans travelling to Germany for the Euros this summer to legally smoke weed, a Class B drug in the UK, but British tourist won’t be able to legally buy any, as the new cannabis clubs will only be open to residents.

Under the first step in the much-debated new law, adults over 18 are now allowed to carry 25 grams of dried cannabis – enough for about 75 joints – and cultivate up to three marijuana plants at home.
