Renders of the highly anticipated Apple Watch X (Series 10) have surfaced, validating long-standing rumours about its design overhaul. Last summer, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman hinted at a slimmer profile and a novel band attachment mechanism utilizing magnets, replacing the current slot-based system.
This innovation aims to free up space within the device, potentially allowing for a larger battery, a limitation imposed by the existing band attachment method.
Shared by @concept_central on ‘X,’ the renders showcase the new band configuration, featuring a distinct ‘handle’ at the top and bottom of the watch. Unlike the current design, which requires band insertion into slots, this approach leaves no grooves, maximizing internal space for enhanced battery capacity.

Enhanced Display and Battery Performance
While initial speculations suggested a shift to microLED display technology, the Apple Watch X will retain its OLED panel, albeit with thinner bezels and improved brightness and efficiency. These advancements are poised to deliver enhanced battery life.
The Apple Watch X is rumoured to introduce a groundbreaking blood pressure monitor, alerting users to abnormal readings. While future iterations may provide detailed systolic and diastolic measurements, the current focus is on early detection through warnings for high or low blood pressure.
Intriguingly, the return of the pulse oximeter hangs in the balance, pending the resolution of legal disputes with Masimo. Following patent infringement allegations, an import ban was imposed on select Apple Watch models. With Masimo’s patent set to expire in 2028, Apple faces a pivotal decision: either devise a non-infringing sensor or negotiate a licensing agreement to restore the feature sooner.
