Apple Releases watchOS Update To Fix Battery Drain Issues; Here’s How To Update

Apple has released watchOS 10.1.1, a bug-fix update for the watchOS 10 operating system, which was initially introduced in September. This update follows the launch of watchOS 10.1 two weeks ago, a release that introduced Double Tap and NameDrop support. You can obtain watchOS 10.1.1 at no cost by accessing the Apple Watch app on an iPhone running iOS 17 or later.

To begin the installation process follow the given steps-

  • Go to General > Software Update.
  • You need a minimum battery level of 50% to update your Apple Watch.
  • Connect your Apple Watch to a charger and proceed.

The primary focus of this update is to address a battery drain issue that has been affecting certain Apple Watch models. Reports of rapid battery consumption emerged after the release of watchOS 10.1. Over the weekend, Apple issued a memo acknowledging the problem and committing to resolving it through a software update.

What’s next?

Apple is currently in the testing phase for watchOS 10.2, with plans to launch it in December, alongside iOS 17.2.
