Saturday was a perfect nose work day for me at Camp Kiwanis in Marine on St. Croix. Last Saturday I had my NW3 Trial in Wisconsin. This weekend it was just an hour from home and it went perfectly!
Mom and I really want to get out of the NW3 level quickly, but it is a tough level. There are six searches including the four main elements, containers, vehicles, interiors, and exteriors, two of which we have two searches in. Every search is zero to three hides, the number is unknown and each search is timed. Mom has to read me, know when I find a hide, and know when I am done before we run out of time. This trial was my fourth one and I have the one title I earned the week before. A team needs three NW3 Titles to move into the next level, Elite.
We have videos of all my searches, but I decided to show everyone containers and my second interior cabin search. Can you see I take my work seriously, and I am crazy for my snacks when I find a hide? The total number of hides for the day was ten, this video has five of them.
Mom is so proud of me as I had a perfect nose work day. I found all ten hides with no errors, and Mom didn’t mess anything up either. This means I earned my second NW3 Title and my final element title. All I need is one more NW3 Title and I am on to Elite! Mom needs to start calling my hides faster, but she is working on that. I placed seventh out of thirty eight dogs and there were eight clean titles. What a happy day for Team Lime Green!
