Saudi citizen sentenced to 15 years in prison and fine in drug trafficking case

RIYADH — A Saudi court sentenced a citizen to 15 years in prison and fine in drug trafficking case. The man was convicted of peddling a quantity of the psychotropic substance amphetamine, and possessing a quantity of it for the purpose of trafficking, according to the Public Prosecution.

The Narcotics wing under the Public Prosecution has completed its investigations against the citizen after the seizure of the drug which was found hidden in a secret location. The accused was arrested and referred to the competent court, which convicted him of the crime.

The Public Prosecution reiterated its determination to initiate strict criminal procedures against those involved in drug crimes. It also underscored its keenness to protect society from this dangerous scourge that threatens the security of the society.
