Look, we all deserve a little treat — whether that’s signing off early, tuning into a favorite reality show, or a quick coffee-and-pastry run. Sometimes it’s what gets me through the day (IYKYK). If you’re in the same boat, then you’re gonna want to hear this. Even if you’re not, you may also be very interested to learn that Rice Krispies Treats, aka one of the most iconic snacks out there, just announced its newest flavor: Chocolatey Peanut Butter

I got my hands on a box ahead of the launch (you know, to see if they’d live up to the hype). After trying them, I can safely say this flavor will become an instant classic.

What You Should Know About Kellogg’s Chocolatey Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats

After hearing fans’ demands (Chocolatey Peanut Butter was the “number one most requested” Rice Krispies Treats flavor, according to the brand), this new recipe is now a reality. As the name suggests, the beloved squares — or, in this case, rectangles — are made with peanut butter, and the bottom is coated in a layer of chocolate. They are slightly smaller and noticeably thinner than the average Rice Krispies Treat. (Little luxuries continues to be a popular trend — one we at The Kitchn have been touting for years.)

Kellogg’s Chocolatey Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats are currently on shelves, sold in bright-blue-and-orange boxes of seven or 14. You can find them at retailers nationwide, including Albertsons, Kroger, Walmart, and more. The best part? It’s now part of the permanent lineup, so you can count on them for years to come.

My Honest Review of Kellogg’s Chocolatey Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats

This was a solid 8/10 (high praise for me). It has all the chewy, gooey texture of a Rice Krispies Treat, plus peanut butter and chocolate! The peanut butter flavor is prominent without overwhelming the marshmallow-y flavor, and the chocolate is a nice finishing touch. It’s rich, but not heavy. (I also shared them with several coworkers and friends, and every single one had nothing but positive reviews, too.)

It’s definitely on the sweeter side, so just a little more saltiness could help balance it out. To me, the only real downside is the size. This is a flavor I want to savor for longer. I wouldn’t mind a slightly larger version, next time around.
