Can a little stutter affects my chances of becoming a pilot?

It is not black/ white and we think it largely depends on how often you stutter, how you stutter, and the effects of your stutter. A little stutter is not a big issue. The important thing is that you can transmit a message on the radio and you need to be able to communicate to your crew, and perhaps make announcements to the passengers. We think the biggest concern with stuttering, is how it could potentially impact on safety, like when you transmit on the frequency. Of course, it needs to be balanced as some airports are very busy. If you stutter and thereby significantly prolong the time to pass your message on the frequency, it is likely to present a problem. Maybe it could be worth exploring under which conditions you stutter and for you to examine if there are situations where you stutter less or more. You will probably also find some initiatives or techniques that could help you overcome your issue.
