It is bad enough that illegal immigrants are paying criminals to stage fake robberies so they can pretend to help law enforcement solve crimes, but now, Democratic sheriffs are passing out visas like candy to illegal immigrants who attack Republicans.
It is far past time to put an end to all these shenanigans by eliminating the U visa.
Created just 24 years ago, the U visa is designed for “victims of certain crimes who have suffered mental or physical abuse and are helpful to law enforcement or government officials in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity.”
The number of U visas granted each year is capped by law at 10,000, but family members are not counted against the cap.
Recently, illegal immigrants have discovered they can stage fake robberies, help police try to solve them, and get legal status through the process. A Houston man unwittingly uncovered one such farce when he shot and killed the fake robber.
In the subsequent investigation, police discovered that the dead fake robber and his accomplice had staged at least two other fake robberies — netting four fraudulently obtained U visas. It is unclear if the Department of Homeland Security is trying to revoke the fraudulent visas.
Fast forward to this week, and now, the Democratic sheriff of Bexar County in Texas is now passing out U visas to illegal immigrants whom Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) paid to have flown to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. Apparently Democrats think flying hungry migrants with no place to stay in San Antonio to the wealthy enclave of Martha’s Vineyard, where they were all given food and shelter, is some type of crime that inflicted great mental abuse on the immigrants in question.

What a joke. The immigrants were made better off by being transported north, away from the overcrowded San Antonio migrant shelters. They are not the victim of anything. If they think they are being mistreated, they are free to return to their home countries.
Clearly both the illegal immigrants themselves and their Democratic Party enablers have decided to abuse the U visa program for their own nefarious ends. It is far past time to repeal this program.
