Top designer Chloe Matters bought a renovator’s delight in 2021 and drew up plans for a dream designer residence, with wellness centre, pool and landscaped sustainable gardens.
But now she and her real estate agent husband are going their separate ways.
That means the freestanding family home at 6 Forest Ave, Bondi Beach is up for May 11 auction with a $7m guide via Maclay Longhurst and James Ball of Sotheby’s.

Matters and her ex, BresicWhitney director Adrian Oddi, bought the existing three-bedroom cottage with double garage for $7.85m in happier times in 2021, so the price guide indicates they’re prepared to take a hit on it due to the circumstances.
The home comes with a complying development certificate for the plans, by Matters’ own studio, Matters + Made, and architecturals by Common Office.
As the marketing material says: “The renders reveal the full scope of the possibilities here, offering instant potential to accomplish one of the eastern beaches best large-scale homes, a chance to craft a timepiece to be enjoyed for generations.”
They show a five-bedroom, five-bathroom residence with two living spaces and a double garage, along with the resort-style features.
The home is also just a 400m level walk to Bondi Beach.
Matters was in the news a few years back for her incredible transformation of a Bondi semi, bought for $2.7m in 2019 that sold for $6,225,000 in 2021.
