It’s quirky, unusual and located in a semirural local area, earmarked for future population growth.

So it’s no surprise buyers, in particular investors, are standing at attention for this Lewiston home.

Situated on a large 1.03ha block, the 2016-built property at 1 Kurt Way makes an impression the moment you head towards the front door, with a large horse mural setting the scene for a ranch-inspired interior, befitting the surrounding country vibes.

Expected to sell at auction in the vicinity of $775,000, the town’s median house price, according to PropTrack, selling agent Jamie Wood of Ray White Barossa/Two Wells said interest in the property had been strong, particularly among buyers looking for an investment with strong future capital growth.

“Interest has been slightly higher than what we’d expect in Lewiston but that’s probably because the property offers something different and is unique,” he said.

“As a result, we’ve had more investor interest in what we’re used to seeing…probably an increase of around 10 per cent to 15 per cent.

“Reason for that being is that rents are good, and out there, it’s where all the infrastructure is going.

“Lewiston looks country but it’s really not, that’s why buyers are looking at this area. You’re right among the action but you’re still getting lots of space…although many believe that’s where the next residential growth will happen.”

While investors are certainly out in droves, Mr Wood said local buyer interest had been equally impressive with the home appealing due to its versatile set up.

Not only does the home boast a spacious floor plan with a central living, dining and kitchen area, but five bedrooms, two of which are the size of a master.

Indoor to outdoor entertaining is simple, with bi-fold doors opening out to a pitched veranda.

Here, wooden decking and a built-in outdoor kitchen and bar will impress, as will a self-sustained granny flat with direct access to a pool.

Other highlights include a sturdy cubby house, a separate studio or gym, and a vacant paddock, perfect for large animal enthusiasts, green thumbs or motor sports.

Mr Wood said the property had been a much-loved family home that served the vendors well during the Pandemic.

“It’s a great home and certainly unique,” he said.

“The granny flat is ideal for older kids or elderly parents but still have easy access to them as it’s all connected.

“So it’s a property that ticks all the boxes and we expect it will do well at auction.”

The property will go under the hammer at 11am on May 17.
