Valley Spring Recovery Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for its comprehensive outpatient treatment programs by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
Valley Spring Recovery Center underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review recently. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with standards spanning several areas including emergency management, the environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, medication management, and rights and responsibilities of the individual.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help healthcare organizations measure, assess, and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

In preparation for the accreditation process, Valley Spring Recovery Center focused on enhancing its comprehensive outpatient treatment programs and evidence-based therapies, which include partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, outpatient services, and telehealth/virtual visits. The center’s commitment to providing personalized care and innovative treatment approaches for substance use disorder was a key factor in meeting the Joint Commission’s standards.
