CINCH

Dura-Con M83513 Micro-D Connectors

The connectors in Cinch’s Dura-Con line are a lightweight Micro-D M83513 connector option that doesn’t sacrifice performance.

These rugged, high-performance, and densely compacted rectangular connectors are designed to stringent MIL-DTL-83513 standards for reliability suitable for harsh environments. In addition, this M83513 connector series uses twist pin technology to create 7 points of contact and is built to meet MIL-STD-1344 requirements.

As a result, the military-grade Cinch Dura-Con M83513 connector can maintain integrity in extreme vibration and shock and is operable at temperatures ranging from -55° C to 125° C.

This Cinch Dura-Con M83513 connector is suitable for a wide range of commercial and military applications, including aircraft, missile defense, launch vehicles, satellites, medical, and test and measurement equipment. Dura-Con M83513 connectors are one of the most widely used 1.27mm pitch connectors.

EMI

Micro-D Filtered Connectors

EMI Solutions’ full range of Micro-D filtered connectors offer the convenience and flexibility of standard configurations while delivering unsurpassed EMI/EMC performance. Filtered connectors are the best means of eliminating unwanted noise from any electronic system. Using filtered connectors eliminates the EM and RF noise that will be picked up through the contacts/leads generated by any internal or external source right at the connector’s interface. There is a multitude of ways to filter or shield at the board level, but none can outperform filtering at the boxes’ interface.

GLENAIR

Mighty Mouse (Series 80) Connectors

Glenair’s Mighty Mouse Series 80 is the leading miniature connector series used in military, civil and ground applications. It mimics the MIL-DTL-38999, however, it is smaller in size and lighter. The Series 80 Mighty Mouse Connector is ideal for the extensive range of power and signal applications that rely on safe environmental and mechanical performance and electromagnetic compatibility as well as high-speed applications such as gigabit Ethernet. This series offers six different coupling variations-size #23 crimp contacts are standard, set on .076′ centers. Mighty Mouse connectors have been used in many critical military and civil applications specializing in harsh and rugged environments. Considering this series is half the size and weight of the standard D38999 connectors, many engineers switched their designs toward this series.

The goal of creating this series was to drastically decrease the size and weight of this flight-critical connector while maintaining its core performance features. The connector reduction work took place in three critical areas beginning with reduction of the shell size and the addition of banding and shrink boot accessory functions. By doing so, Glenair successfully managed to cut not only the size and weight of the D38999, but also reduce the cost significantly.

MIL-DTL-83513 Micro-D Connectors

MIL-DTL-83513 allows the use of low-cost stamped contacts; however, the Glenair Micro-D connector features the high-performance TwistPin contact system. Glenair M83513 connectors are 100% Made in the USA. Glenair’s industry-leading Micro-D capacity and capabilities offer quick worldwide access to the full range of QPL items. In addition to the general specification, MIL-DTL-83513 contains a total of 33 Detail Specification Sheets, nicknamed ‘slash sheets’ because a forward slash is used in the numbering system.

Being only 20 miles away from Glenair’s headquarters, Air Electro is the leading authorized distributor for all the Glenair connector needs.

SOURIAU BY EATON

8STA Motorsport Series

The 8STA series is a highly reliable micro-miniature connector series with a quick mating system dedicated to motorsport applications including Formula 1, Rallye cars, and Moto GP.

Motorsports is a market where more and more electronics are installed onboard and where space and weight constraints become increasingly critical.

The 8STA and 8TA Series are miniature circular connectors that are designed to be smaller and lighter with high-reliability features to ensure the driver’s safety and correct operation of the vehicle. These two series, especially the 8STA, are the preferred motorsport connectors, and are used across the world of competitive motorsport – both on motorcycles and cars, primarily for sensors and electric systems.

8STA and 8TA circular connectors are derived from international military specifications MIL-DTL-38999 and JN1003, and are therefore naturally designed to withstand high levels of shock and vibration in harsh environments.

The experts at Souriau by Eaton bring their ideas in a multitude of specific products which results in more than 100 derived versions fulfilling each interconnect need of the motorsport industry. Due to the constant innovative needs from the motorsport market, they are dedicated to producing derived products on demand.

micro38999 Series (8DA, 8LTA, 8BA)

The micro38999® series is a miniature circular connector derived from MIL-DTL-38999 design and available in three coupling systems: threaded, break away, and bayonet.

50% shorter length, 33% smaller diameter, and 3 times lighter, micro38999® connectors are ideally suited for applications with space and weight constraints such as defense applications (display, UAV, helmet, tactical radio) and industrial applications (remote control, drilling, medical, instrumentation, etc.).

The micro38999® series is the first complete platform on the market of integrated backshell products available with a 38999 design and is compliant with the harshest specification (high vibration, operating temperature, durability, corrosion resistance, EMI shielding, etc.)

Three coupling systems are available to choose the best compromise for your application: Threaded coupling (8DA range): high vibration withstanding and strong signal protection. Break away (8BA range): quickest mating/unmating cycle for applications where reactivity is key. Bayonet (8LTA range): tightest space requirements with reliable mating.

The electrical crimp contacts can be removed, enabling users to wire and unwire micro38999® connectors directly on-site. The contacts have an M39029-based design providing a high-quality secure connection.

micro38999® connectors offer concrete RoHS alternative to cadmium with black zinc nickel, nickel, and stainless steel. Esterline Connection Technologies – SOURIAU has more than 10 years of experience in producing Zn Ni with continuous improvements to comply with military and aerospace harsh environment conditions. Our Zn Ni connectors are the first ones to be qualified by the US Defense Standards Organization (DLA Land and Maritime).
