bleach manga in order

What is Bleach Manga All About?

Bleach is a manga series that follows Ichigo Kurosaki, who is a normal high-schooler at first glance. But he is not normal by any means because he can see ghosts and talk to them.

One day, while hanging out at his home, he sees a mysterious girl walking through his room. He confronts her and asks her what she’s doing at his place, and the girl is shocked that Ichigo can see her. It turns out that this girl, whose name is Rukia Kuchiki, is a Soul Reaper.

She has been tasked to take care of a Hollow, a corrupt spirit that devours human souls, that has been running wild in the area. When she finds the Hollow, she discovers that it is too much for her to handle, and she gets injured while protecting Ichigo and his family.

Since she is injured, she offers to transfer her Soul Reaper powers to Ichigo so that he can protect his family, and Ichigo accepts her offer and becomes the Substitute Soul Reaper. With this new power-up, Ichigo is able to fend off the evil spirit and ensure that his family, Rukia, and himself are not harmed.

But this is only the starting because in transferring her powers to a human, Rukia committed a grave crime, and she’s taken as a prisoner back to the Soul Society.

Ichigo decides to help her, just as she helped him, and heads to the Soul Society, where he comes across Soul Reapers so powerful that their mere presence in the human realm could cause massive damage to the world.

But Ichigo is not alone as his friends, Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado, and Uryuu Ishida, each having their own unique abilities, decide to accompany him to the Soul Society and rescue Rukia!

And that is just the beginning of the story because soon we find out that the Hollows are not the only thing that is a danger to the world of the living; there’s a sinister evil lurking behind the shadows who is planning on taking over all the worlds – the human realm, the Soul Society as well as Hueco Mundo, the world where Hollows come from!
