If your kids are anything like mine they will beg me to buy a certain cereal, eat half the pack and then never touch it again.

They’re also terrible for only eating half the options in those mini multipacks of cereal.

It drives me mad having so many half eaten boxes of cereal in my kitchen so I decided to use some of it up to make these tasty Chocolate Cereal Bars. The perfect snacks for kids!

Leftover cereal bar divided into eight bars shaped pieces.

Start off by melting peanut butter and honey in a jug in the microwave.

If you want to make these bars nut free then you can use Wow Butter.

Ingredients being mixed up in a glass Pyrex jug.

Add this to a bowl with leftover cereal. I used three different types of cereal. It really doesn’t matter what size of shape it is.

Ingredients being combined together in a mixing bowl.

Add it to a lined loaf tin and press down with the back of a spoon to make it as compact as possible.

Pour on some melted chocolate and then pop into the freezer for at least 1 hour to firm up.

Melted chocolate added to the top and popped in the freezer to firm up.

It’s then ready to cut into slices and enjoy!

These bars will keep for several days in the fridge, perfect to pull out for an afternoon snack for kids.
