My european adventure starts with air travel. This particular shot is somewhere between Paris and Manchester England. The weather was rainy and our flight was late. It was here I got my first taste of British hospitality.
We literally ran from one terminal to the next in order to catch our connection to Aberdeen, only to be turned away at the security checkpoint. Reason? On British Airways, in England, you can only have one carry on item. I had two, which was fine when I boarded the first leg of my BA flight in Paris. So I ran downstairs to check my bag. Then I ran back up and basically cut in line at the security checkpoint. "Excuse me, my plane is leaving." People just stepped aside. No problem.
In America, we are not so generous. Cutting in line is almost a capital offense, and if someone is gracious enough to let you get away with it, they are still pissed about it. In England there was none of this duplicity. It was nice.
