Colorful Smoke Vortices – A Dark Day Winter Project

Colorful Smoke Vortices - A Dark Day Winter Project

If you watch smoke raising from burning incense you don’t really notice the beauty of it till you shine a light through it.
Then you see all the beautiful vortices that are constantly changing as they rise away from the incense.
I did a lot of experimenting, trying to get different results in the way the smoke looked. I finally found away to get the smoke to show a rainbow effect without using any filters or colored gels. No two shots are ever the same.
I finally had to quit.
Jan said, she was getting tired of the house smelling so strong of incense.
She puts up with a lot from me. She is a very patient lady.
We will be celebrating our 57th Wedding Anniversary in early March.
So, we must be doing something right.
So, much for my dad telling me, I was to young to get married and that it would never work out………
I also want to give the smoke another try soon, before we get to much light as the days get longer.
I did turn this shot on its side as I think it looks better that way.
I do like the beautiful patterns that the smoke creates.
