TheDesignAir –JetBlue refreshes Mint amenities and menus

In a bid to keep things minty fresh, JetBlue is bringing a new range of NYC brands to the skies once again. As of next week, Mint guests will be supplied a brand new amenity range ‘tucked into a stylish and reusable foldable backpack’ for Transatlantic and a snapping, collectible pouch for domestic Mint, both designed by Caraa.

The new amenity kits contain popular wellness products from New York-based brands Dr. Dennis Gross and Plus Ultra, replacing the pervious amenity ranges. But one thing won’t change, the existing sleep amenities from Tuft & Needle. “Created in partnership with Buzz, the amenity kits continue to elevate JetBlue’s premium Mint experience while maintaining focus on sustainability with their intentional design for reuse,” states the airline’s press release. Check out our previous review of JetBlue’s Mint product below.

Caraa is a New York City-based sport bag and accessory company that reimagines bags for modern life, mixing high function with beautifully fashioned materials to create the next-gen luxury bag for the modern traveler. On transatlantic routes, Mint customers will find their charcoal-coloured Caraa sport mesh pouch unfolds into a mint-coloured, functional backpack ideal for use as a travel day pack, hotel gym bag or beach tote. On domestic routes, Mint customers will discover a “snappable” pouch that holds all travel essentials—and with four colourways (sage, clay, sand, gunmetal), creating a mix-and-match range of travel accessories.

Mint customers will also receive an array of Dr. Dennis Gross’ ultra-rich Hyaluronic Marine products, including the Hyaluronic Marine Oil-Free Moisture Cushion and Hydrate + Smooth Hand Treatment, their best-selling Ultra Gentle Daily Peel treatments, and the popular Moisture-Lock Lip Balm.

Mint customers will receive a sculpted Moso bamboo toothbrush from Plus Ultra—a renewable resource that is both durable and inherent with anti-bacterial qualities that protect from germs and mould. Paired with Plus Ultra’s Mint gel toothpaste or mouthwash, these products are meant to leave your mouth feeling fresh and protected the rest of your day.

In addition to new amenities, tune in to a new menu from NYC-based restaurant Legacy Records, which is one of three rotating restaurant partners from Delicious Hospitality Group (DHG), in Mint. With the best hits of seasonal flavours, customers can delight in coconut yogurt with maple-pecan, ginger granola or a warm rosemary honey biscuit by The Hungry Gnome to set their palate for breakfast. For lunch or dinner, customers can enjoy aromatic flavours found in lamb shoulder with roasted carrots, harissa and citrus breadcrumbs, or keep indulge in orzo served with roasted tomatoes, marinated feta and arugula.

It’s not just Business Class guests receiving a menu refresh though. Another NYC and customer favourite, DIG, is bringing new farm to tray-table dishes to JetBlue’s transatlantic Core (economy) experience. Customers can sit back, relax and order from an elevated selection of dishes, right from the comfort of their seat-back screen. For lunch and dinner flights, customers can find a spice-infused choice of marinated jerk chicken with coconut rice and pickled habanada peppers and enjoy sides like shredded beet and carrot salad with candied sunflower seeds or a kale, parsley and quinoa salad with demi-sec tomatoes. For early morning flights, customers can fuel-up before touching down with dishes like the herb and cheese frittata with kale, potato and rosemary olive oil or vegan French toast with dried cherry jam. Yum.

As I do every year, I ask on your kind support to keep things going. If you are able to donate – whatever amount – it all gets funnelled back in to the site, to keep the site full of content. And I thank you personally for your kind support.
