Meek Mill and Wale were rumored to have issues with each other, at the height of the MMG era. A video showing the two on the red carpet highlighted the tension. However, both rappers quickly came out to refute those rumors. After that, a year later, Meek Mill called Wale out for not promoting his album cover. Later, the two made peace, but Meek called Wale out, today, for taking a photo with one of his rivals.

Meek Mill was the breakout star of the Maybach Music camp. In 2010, Rick Ross said he might sign Wale to MMG. At the time, most didn’t believe Ross, who was known for his boasting. Plus, MMG wasn’t established as a label. Also, while Ross was considered a “Southern” rapper, Wale was considered a lyrical rapper. However, Wale was signed, and promo began on his first album with the label. A few months later, Meek was signed, and his mixtape run overshadowed Wale’s push.
