Over the weekend, it has emerged that an Austrian Airlines Airbus A320neo has been damaged in Vienna.
It is understood that the level of damage is significant on the aircraft, as we will explore in this piece.

The Austrian Airlines Airbus A320neo Damaged in Vienna…
It is understood the flight affected was Austrian Airlines flight OS456 that came from London Heathrow and got damaged after landing in Vienna.
The aircraft operating this flight was registered as OE-LZQ.
As per data from Planespotters.net, OE-LZQ is a 0.9 year old Airbus A320neo that was delivered to the airline in June 2023.
Furthermore, of the Airbus A320neo variant, one of which got damaged in Vienna, Austrian Airlines has five of them.
Of that five, four are in active service and one is parked, offering an average fleet age of 1.0 years.
Austrian Airlines flight OS456 departed London Heathrow at 1953 local time on April 6.
The aircraft landed safely into Vienna at 2243 local time.
From the images above, you can see the damage that the Austrian Airlines Airbus A320neo suffered in Vienna.
It is understood that the damage was caused by a collision with a jet bridge when parking up at the gate.
Other than that, there is no additional information pertinent to the incident at hand.
When Will It Re-Enter Service?
Furthermore, at this stage, it is unclear when the aircraft’s damage will be repaired in Vienna.
The extent of the damage will need to be assessed properly, then fixed accordingly.
All eyes will be on how long it takes to fix the aircraft before re-entering commercial service.
