Mastercard Adds New Benefits to Personal and Business Cards

There’s more to your Mastercard than meets the eye, courtesy of several benefits available to consumer and small business cardholders. And yes, these perks come alongside those stated in your cardholder agreement.

Even better, Mastercard announced new benefits focusing on health and wellness, travel, and lifestyle rewards. Here’s a look at what’s new.

Mastercard Adds Additional Benefits to Consumer and Small Business Credit Cards

You might be familiar with the offers attached to World Mastercard and World Elite Mastercard products. Just by holding a card with that designation, you can access exclusive offers, such as two free months of Instacart+ or a rebate for subscribing to Peacock.

Mastercard has expanded the reach of these offers and added new ones. Now, you’ll find extra perks and savings on the following flavors of Mastercard credit cards:

  • Standard Mastercard®
  • World Mastercard®
  • World Elite Mastercard®
  • Mastercard BusinessCard®
  • World Elite Mastercard for Business®

Let’s take a look at the new offers.

New offers for consumer and small business cards

Mastercard rolled out three new benefits for consumer and small business cardholders:

  • Booking.com: Get 7% off pre-paid bookings made through the Booking.com–Mastercard partnership webpage.
  • HealthLock: Receive a 90-day free trial to HealthLock’s Medical Claim Saver. After the trial, cardholders can continue with the Medical Claim Monitor for free or pay for premium services.
  • Lyft: Get an automatic 10% off all scheduled rides to the airport.

Of particular interest to travelers might be the Booking.com 7% pre-paid discount. While this might be intriguing at first glance, it’s still worth comparing the rates you’ll find on the Mastercard booking engine to those published directly with the hotel or other online travel agencies. This way, you can ensure you get the best price on your hotel reservation.

New offers uniquely for consumer cards

You’ll also find three additional offers introduced solely for consumer Mastercards:

  • Alo Moves: World Elite Mastercard holders can enjoy 50% off the Alo Moves wellness platform and earn 300 Alo Access points after enrollment.
  • MoviePass: New subscribers with a Standard Mastercard receive a 50% discount on the first two months of a Standard or Premium MoviePass subscription.
  • ResortPass: On all ResortPass bookings of $200 or more, World Elite Mastercard holders will receive a $30 statement credit; World Mastercard holders receive a $20 statement credit.

Final Thoughts

Mastercard’s new offers and benefits may not be useful for everyone. The retailers and offerings are rather niche. Ultimately, if you can use them, great! If not, thankfully, there are no added costs associated with the addition of these perks, and there’s no harm in ignoring them entirely. At a minimum, the Lyft and Booking.com benefits are worth your price shopping.
