Marvel has revealed a new variant cover by legendary Teenage Mutant NinjaTurtles co-creator Kevin Eastman for the upcoming Wolverine: Blood Hunt #1. The Tom Waltz and Juan José Ryp four-issue will arrive this June.
Per Marvel, Eastman, whose recent work includes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, marks his first venture into the Marvel sandbox by producing the action-packed cover. The variant cover features the titular character slashing through a vampire horde in full berserker mode with his mysterious new crossbow-wielding ally, Louise of the Nightguard, by Wolverine’s side. Waltz, who collaborated with Eastman on The LastRonin, penned Wolverine: Blood Hunt with art by Ryp. Ben Harvey drew the first-issue main cover. Marvel teases that Logan’s private war against the vampire nation, which has steadily escalated in Benjamin Percy’s Wolverine run, “will now come to a head!”

Wolverine: Blood Hunt Creators are Thrilled
Series writer Waltz expressed his excitement about the upcoming Blood Hunt series and his collaborators, “I’ve spent much of my career writing about iconic mutants, so having my Marvel debut be a chance to put ‘the best there is’ through a vampiric blood storm in Wolverine: Blood Hunt is an absolute thrill of a lifetime,” he said. “It’s made even better by getting to do it alongside the amazingly talented Juan José Ryp, top-notch colorist GURU-eFX, and stellar editors Mark Basso and Drew Baumgartner. Blood, bullets, claws, and fangs—nothing gets held back in our four-issue gauntlet of gore!” Waltz added.
Series artist Ryp teased the series’ intense gore, “Wolverine: Blood Hunt… Wow. My favorite Marvel character against Vampires! And who doesn’t like vampires? This is surely the most dynamic, bloody, and daring series I have been able to draw. I hope seeing a lot of blood doesn’t scare you off!”
Wolverine: Blood Hunt #1 will arrive in comic book shops on June 5, 2024.
