Superman is Under More Pressure Than Ever in DC Preview


The action in DC’s House of Brainiac event ramps up with a special one-shot anthology that sees Superman and the people of Metropolis in danger.

DC Comics has given fans a preview of the upcoming Superman: House of Brainiac Special #1. The upcoming anthology one-shot includes three essential stories in the ongoing House of Brainiac storyline.




Following the events of Action Comics #1064 and Superman #13, the special comic sees Brainiac’s mounting pressure on the Man of Steel as more secrets are revealed, with DC teasing that the three stories will give fans deeper insight into Brainiac’s plans and how Superman’s absence is impacting the citizens of Metropolis. In addition to the cover for the special, DC previewed pages from each of the upcoming stories. Superman: House of Brainiac Special #1 goes on sale on April 30.

Superman: House of Brainiac Special #1 includes three stories, starting with ‘Secrets of Czarnia’ by Joshua Williamson with art by Edwin Galmon and Dave Sharpe, wherein Brainiac recalls his deal with Czarnia’s General Tribb that ultimately resulted in betrayal. ‘Signal’ sees Amanda Waller learn the identity of the Council of Light in a story by Williamson with art by Fico Ossio, Rex Lokus and Dave Sharpe. Lastly, ‘Campaign Headquarters’ sees metahumans, including Superman, gone from Metropolis, and Daily Planet editor and mayoral candidate Perry White trying to hold the city together during his campaign in a story by Mark Russell with art by Steve Pugh, Jordie Bellaire and Dave Sharpe.


House of Brainiac Special Leads into DC’s Big Summer Event

DC has teased that the upcoming Superman: House of Brainiac Special #1 will lead into their blockbuster summer event, ‘Absolute Power’. The four-part comic event will launch July 2, led by writer Mark Waid and artist Dan Mora. ‘Absolute Power’ continues DC’s spotlight on Amanda Waller, seeing the villainous Suicide Squad leader plotting to steal all meta human abilities in a power play that will require Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman to join forces against her.
