Iron Man and Magneto Team With a Villain to Combat the Fall of X

Throughout The Fall of X, Iron Man has been closely aligned with the X-Men behind the scenes, as Feilong of Orchis has stolen Tony Stark’s company, and used Tony’s Iron Man technology to create superior versions of the mutant-hunting Sentinels, and Tony has been wanting to restore his company’s honor, and bring down Feilong, ever since it happened. However, due to Orchis holding the lives of almost all of humanity on Earth hostage, the X-Men and Iron Man were not able to strike Orchis directly. Now that the hostage situation has been resolved, Iron Man and the X-Men have both been publicly attacking Orchis, but now it appears as though Orchis has turned on humanity, as well, and in this CBR exclusive preview of Invincible Iron Man #18, Tony, guest star Magneto (newly resurrected), and the villainous Feilong must team-up to take Orchis down.

Invincible Iron Man #18 is from writer Gerry Duggan (also one of the chief architects of the Fall of X in the pages of X-Men and Fall of the House of X), artists Crees Lee and Walden Wong, colorist Bryan Valenza, and letterer Joe Caramagna, and shows that after Iron Man’s initial plan against the Sentinels using his Sentinel Buster armor was successful, Fielong took the Sentinel Buster down by crashing a Sentinel into its power supply. At this point, Iron Man and Feilong both discovered that Orchis’ artificial intelligence (led by Nimrod) has turned on the humans of the organization, so now Orchis is hunting both mutants AND humans, forcing Iron Man and Feilong into a strange alliance, along with Magneto showing up to help.

EXCLUSIVE: The Avengers Finally Help the X-Men in the Fall of X

The Avengers finally make their move to help their fellow superheroes, the X-Men, in the Fall of X in this CBR exclusive preview of Avengers #12

In the preview pages, we see the awkward introduction between Feilong and Magneto, where it is one of those situations where Feilong is obsessed with Magneto, while Magneto doesn’t even know who Feilong IS.

Iron Man reveals that he is dealing with a wound from earlier in the fight with the Sentinels, but he is willing to hang in there and gut it out, and so now he and Feilong strategize on how to take down the Orchis A.I, but they need a power source, and Magneto notes that HE can take care of that, which we will see how it goes down in next week’s Invincible Iron Man #18.
