Carnage Decides What Side to Join in the Venom War

Ever since Dylan Brock took over as Venom, things have been building to an inevitable confrontation between Dylan and his father, Eddie Brock, over who will ultimately be the one who controls Venom, and that conflict is coming to a head now in the crossover event, Venom War, which launches in August, and CBR has an EXCLUSIVE solicitation for one of the tie-in books in the series, Venom War: Carnage #1.

Carnage has always been tied to Venom, of course, due to the Carnage symbiote being the spawn of Venom, but recently, the titles have become even more tied together, just coming off of a major crossover event between Venom and Carnage, so Torunn Grønbekk is fully connected to the events of Venom War, making this tie-in feel a good deal more necessary to the overall story.

What does Torunn Grønbekk have to say about the tie-in series?

Grønbekk, who has been the regular writer on Carnage’s current series (along with artist Pere Pérez) since it launched late last year, hyped up the new tie-in series in a press release from Marvel, “Writing Carnage has been a rare, exquisite joy, and I’m thrilled to continue the story with ever-brilliant Pere Perez.

From god to prey, Carnage has undergone quite the journey of self-discovery of late. Hunted, he has gone to ground, where he tries to figure out who is plotting in the shadows. A symbiote war is imminent, that much is certain, but an invisible hand is manipulating events from the sidelines, and they have their sights set on Carnage. But Cletus Kasady does not like to be a mere pawn in someone else’s game, and wherever Cletus is, carnage follows. Join us as Carnage finds the truth and turns the table in Venom War: Carnage!”

Venom War: Carnage #1 is due to be released on August 21st.
