Cara WallsThe National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) has appointed Cara Walls as director of cybersecurity.
Walls joins the organization with over a decade of experience in cybersecurity for companies such as Coyote Logistics, UMB, H&R Block, and New York Life. Walls is also a lead instructor and curriculum developer in cybersecurity at the University of Louisiana Graduate Program.
Hapag-Lloyd
Silke LehmkösterSilke Lehmköster has taken over the role of managing director fleet at Hapag-Lloyd, with responsibility for fleet management, fleet innovation and technology and chartering as well as the newbuildings project group. She succeeds Richard von Berlepsch, who will focus on selected projects and committee work going forward. Lehmköster will report to Maximilian Rothkopf, COO of Hapag-Lloyd AG. Lehmköster began her career at Hapag-Lloyd with an apprenticeship at sea in 2005 and was promoted to captain in 2018. Two years later, she switched to an on-shore position and initially served as senior director marine HR before becoming senior director fleet management in April 2022.
Cargo iQ
Marie Seco-KöppenCargo iQ has a new executive director, Marie Seco-Köppen. Seco-Köppen, brings over 20 years’ experience in global air freight. She joins Cargo iQ from Im3pact AG, a consultancy for global transportation, and will take over from the current executive director, Lothar Moehle, a member of the organization since its inception 26 years ago. Moehle is retiring in June after a 50-year career in air cargo.
FTR
Joseph TowersJoseph Towers has joined FTR as senior analyst, rail. Towers most recently worked at Oliver Wyman as a freight rail specialist, working directly with Class Is, shortlines, OEMs, operators, and private equity clients. He began his career at Trinity Industries where his primary responsibilities included market research and economic forecasting. Towers holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in economics from Texas A&M University, with a concentration in financial econometrics. He lives in Dallas, Texas.
