Passengers burn to death in accident in Kogi

Some passengers reportedly burnt to death in an accident that occurred at Aloma in Ofu local government area of Kogi state, on Sunday morning.

 

The accident which occurred in front of Aloma Teachers’ College, involved two buses and a trailer. An eyewitness told Daily Trust that a fully loaded Siena bus collided with oncoming opposite Toyota bus while trying to avoid a pothole on the road. The car caught fire immediately, and all its occupants burnt to death. 

 

The source said; 

 

“All the passengers in the Toyota bus, including the driver were burnt to death.Those in the sienna bus too were burnt, with no survivor. An articulated vehicle that packed nearby the place of incident also caught fire in the process and burnt to ashes. A house closer to the area was also destroyed by the raging inferno.

“We are yet to confirm of any survivor, except those in the packed articulated vehicle.”’

 

The villager added that they couldn’t rescue some of the trapped passengers due to the absence of combustible fighting equipment.
