Nigerian man calls out his uncles for refusing to help him

As a young man in 1999, after coming out of Secondary School, I looked back and front and saw no elder sibling, uncles, aunties. I am from a family of 8 in which I’m number 4. My 3 elder siblings stopped at the same level (did not proceed beyond sec. Sch.). I was determined and asked a friend who was working as a Security Guard in Lagos, how I could get money to go to the university. He said to me, brother, you’re like me, no one behind you…come let’s go and do security job in Lagos. I raised money and the following week, I was in Lagos. Long story short, 3 days of my arrival, we went for a security training under ASCO, Mile 12. After passing out, I was posted to MD Unilever’s residence at Ikoyi. I later got another job under GuardsMark Security at No.*** Gerald Road, Ikoyi. I was working both day/night with the two companies. I raised money, put in for JAMB, got admission, graduated and served NYSC. Today, I’m happily working earning almost 500k as net salary. My anger is that I’m the only graduate, only person doing a meaningful job among my siblings. My other friend is working with a Fed. Uni and doing well as well. Every holiday from my yr 1 to 4 was spent at the security post. Thanks to Daniel, my Edo Supervisor at ASCO for his understanding and providing opportunity whenever I called for short term job. I have been looking for Daniel to say thank you, but to no avail.
