From all four nominees the only bad album won. Definitely "Bad" should have won since it was not only the best album of 1987 , but the best of all times , but also very good albums from very good artists were the albums of Whitney and Prince.
Bad was MJ's worst album, having only one good song IMHO, Smooth Criminal. The other notable songs would only be considered B sides when compared to the rest of his work from other albums. The Way You Make Me Feel, and Dirty Diana, were not even in the same league as any song from Thriller. U2 DESERVED their album of the year award because EVERY SONG ON JOSHUA TREE IS A BANGING FUCKING HIT!! GROW UP!

MJ was always a good decent guy with no ego. Gave his performances all his effort and always worked well with people. However the Grammys in my opinion is nothing more than a pick the winners situation. Let that be a lesson that the only reward is your own award of greatness in everything you do…

I have never in my life heard of any of the other albums but I’ve heard the bad album and I’m only 13. So that means that the bad album had more of an impact and should’ve won.
U2 is great, but the idea of them beating Michael Jackson, prince and Whitney Houston is laughable.
