GOD'S PLANS FOR YOU

Yesterday, we took our puppy to the vet to get his shots. Of course, he would have preferred not to be in a carrier and to get stuck twice by a needle. (I think my cat would have preferred we never got him 😊) It made me think about how sometimes when God allows something in our life that seems unpleasant, we resent it. It could be the end of a relationship that would not have been good for us. It could be the end of a job that was not right for us. We may find ourselves needing to move. Wherever God places us, He blesses us.

The reasons for the things we experience may not be clear, but we are able to stay in peace as we trust in the fact that God knows what is best for us. I have lived in my house now for over 6 years. Prior to purchasing this house, I moved constantly. I never wanted to pay more for rent than the property deserved. The problem with renting is that the renter is powerless to stop rent increases. These increases typically happen every year. Moving is not something that I enjoy. The process of packing and unpacking is tedious. I usually try to leave the property that I am exiting in spotless condition. That usually involved a lot of cleaning that could not be postponed. I have enjoyed being in one home for a while.

Yet, I know, that if God tells me to move somewhere else, that is what I will do. After all, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13). He does not have to explain it all to me, and probably will not. However, I know that whatever He tells me to do is for my good. It may not make sense to me, but it does not have to. I have experienced His love and provision long enough to know that He will be with me and will make everything work for my good. He will do the same for you, for He loves you no less than me.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) “ Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
