Abdominal Pain and Bilious Vomiting With a Dilated Duodenum and Stomach in a Five-Year-Old Boy



Question: A 5-year-old boy presented with a 4-day history of vomiting and intermittent periumbilical abdominal pain. He vomited after consuming liquids and solids, and the emesis became bilious on the day of consultation. He had no fever, diarrhea, history of abdominal trauma or surgery, raw food intake, or sick contacts. The patient’s mother reported that the patient had a decreased appetite. His body weight, height, and body mass index were 13.7 kg (−1.6 standard deviations [SD]), 100 cm (−1.9 SD), and 13.7 (−1.4 SD), respectively.
