Wolverine #179-180 (2002): 1st Chuck Moss

When Alpha Flight members Sasquatch, Snowbird and Puck get possessed by demons, Shaman brings in Wolverine to help.  Apparently, his adamantium bones make him invulnerable to being possessed.  (Really?!  That’s a new power set…)

They fight a bunch of demonically possessed bugs, un-possess their comrades, and save the day.  Importantly, though, Shaman has a new protégé who is an omega level mutant.

In issue #180, Wolverine helps the new mutant, Chuck Moss, come to terms with his powers.  He also gets kicked in the face by a buck.

After his introduction here, Moss disappears for several months before resurfacing in Uncanny X-Men.
