“A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?” ~ Albert Einstein
They Will Call You Crazy. But so what?
I used to be terrified at the thought of being called ‘crazy’ – especially by men. The thought of being perceived as anything other than ‘pleasing’ to the world around me scared me. But after a lot of pain – caused mostly by this desperate need to please others – and a lot of work on myself, I realized that no amount of ‘love’, ‘attention’ and ‘affection’ is worth betraying who you truly are.
It is way better to be called ‘crazy’ than to get rid of yourself and live a life that was never meant for you in the first place.
Yes!
To hold your ground by making sure you don’t betray yourself, your values, integrity and everything you know in your heart to be right and true – even for a moment, or two you slip and make a fool of yourself, can be perceived as a form of madness by some. But only because they haven’t yet learned the value and importance of authenticity and the power that comes from being true to themselves. And that’s exactly what Alexander Yodorovsky wanted us to realize in this beautiful piece I will share with you below.
They Will Call You Crazy
“They will call you “crazy” because you are,
because you were born with the gift of seeing
things in a different way.
And that scares them.
They’ll call you “intense” because you are,
because you were born with well-worn value
to allow you to feel everything fully.
And it intimidates them.
They will call you selfish because that’s how you are,
because you found out you’re the thing
more important than your life.
And that doesn’t suit them.
You will be called many things,
with many judgments, for a long time,
but stay firm in yourself and in what you want,
and I promise you that someday
they will call you to say:
«Thank you for existing».
