Breach hang around top of standings at Stage 1 Major qualifiers

The Boston Breach cruised to a 3-1 win over the Carolina Royal Ravens on Saturday to stay in contention for the top spot in the standings of qualifying action for the Call of Duty League’s Stage 1 Major.

Boston took Hacienda Control 3-2 and Vault Hardpoint 250-109 to pull away from a 1-1 tie and improve to 4-1, good for third place in the standings behind the Toronto Ultra (5-0) and the Los Angeles Thieves (4-0).

Carolina fell to 4-1, dropping it to fifth place in the standings.

In other action Saturday, the Vancouver Surge beat the Vegas Falcons 3-1 and the Miami Heretics edged Cloud9 New York 3-2.

Vancouver followed the same path to victory that the Breach took, splitting the first two maps of its meeting with the Falcons, then prevailing 3-1 on Hacienda Control before picking up a 250-171 win on Red Card Hardpoint.

Miami had to rally from a 2-1 deficit, doing so with victories on Vault Hardpoint (250-183) and Hacienda Search & Destroy (6-4).

Qualifying action continues Sunday with three matches:

–Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 vs. Toronto Ultra

–Los Angeles Thieves vs. OpTic Texas

–Minnesota Rokkr vs. Atlanta FaZe
