AI robot chefs taking over US jobs in restaurants and kitchens as humans are pushed out of all roles by droids

HUMANS could disappear entirely from restaurant kitchens as robots take over nearly all roles – including cooking and cleaning.

Companies are launching unique AI robot chefs that prepare and cook food all by themselves at the push of a button.

One robot created by Botinkit is also able to wash up and follow recipes, as well as “stir-fry, stew, boil, fry and [make] salad.”

Featuring a silver and grey design, the robot has a touch-screen where people select a dish and how they’d like it prepared.

The Botinkit chef will then get to work.

A video released by the company shows a human uploading a recipe that is sent to the AI chef via the cloud.

Then with the push of a button, the robot starts preparing rice dishes, pasta, Asian chicken, and more, making human interference obsolete.

The footage reveals how seasoning and sauces are dispensed from the machine directly into the mixing bowl, which doubles as a pan.

The digital kitchen solutions company operates in 19 countries, with Asia currently its biggest market.

But the business set up in Europe and the US earlier this year with big ambitions, as reported by Absolutely Business.

According to chief executive Chen Rui, the aim is not to replace existing human chefs altogether but to help cut operating costs.

Botinkit claims its robots can reduce labor costs by 30% and food and seasoning waste by 10%.

“Our automated solution ensures that high-quality food can be delivered in large quantities without compromising on profitability,” the website states.

“The precision control ensures consistent taste and quality, customer satisfaction, and reduced waste and costs.

“We provide a variety of dietary options for different types of institutions, including schools, aged care facilities, and so on.

“We take into account special dietary needs such as gluten-free, vegan, and low-sodium, ensuring that everyone can enjoy high-quality and delicious meals.”

In an interview with South Morning China Post, Rui predicted robotic kitchens will be the norm very soon.

“In a decade, we believe the restaurant industry will shift towards digital kitchens where robots and intelligent systems play a leading role in operations,” he said.

He insisted that humans will still be involved in some aspects of the cooking process but in a much more limited way.

“Humans will focus on recipe creation, and adding personal touches to the dishes at the final stage,” he said.

Botinkit products can be purchased through inquiries on the company website.
