How the aircrafts under goes cold wheather certification? And new update about aviation is Airbus lauches the ACJ-220 aircaft. ~ Mayuresh blogs Airbus planning to launch there new aircaft ACJ a220-300 and the aircrafts are in the cold wheather certification process at Yellowknife north west CanadaThis cold wheather certification states that at what temp the aircraft can operate legally. As per Airbus they want to certify there aircafts at -35 degrees, As we already knows that the when the aircraft at it’s cruising altitude temp can fall below the -35 degrees as you can see below-The temp can fall upto the -58 degrees and more. But this the cold wheather certifications are not about that, the process is all about outside air temp at the airport meaning about at ground level. As I mentioned earlier the North West Canada the temp could not falll or exceeds -26 degrees. Now then bombardier and Airbus decided to conduct all cold wheather certification for there aircafts at the place of Yellowknife Canada. They wanted to go at -41 degrees Celsius for certification of brand new a220.Now take a closer look at the certification program for a220-300 aircafts. After the aircraft is coming to the certification station. and then the test crew first disembark the plane. Now the plane has to stay in the cold for more than 12 hr. Neither with external or internal panel, no heat, no action with the aircraft at all. As like belowAnd at the temp of below -40 degrees, and now at the next morning the aircraft is completely frozen and crew has to fly this aircaft without any objective. Now what is the purpose of such testing, mainly it’s all about the performance of the aircraft after being exposed to such extreme temperature without any heat to prevent the crushable parts to cooling down so far.Now testing the aircraft for previously mentioned 12 hr, everything Cools Down due to the outside air temp and that brings some issues Starting to the materials from which the aircraft is made up of , now at the such low temperature material and others metal parts have the characterstics that they contract. Now the problem here isdifferent materials contract at different rates, and some materials contract more than others at the same temperature. And in aviation variety of materials is used for different purposes. Contracting at different rates put some serious stress on the aircrafts structural parts and the engines. because this sudden change in temperature metal may fatigue his life and can lead to a damage. As we know airplanes uses jet A1 fuel which generally freezes at -40 degrees and become a more viscous at that temperature, and this is a major problem for all airlines across the world. But the in most modern aircafts this can be reduced with the help of fuel-oil heat exchanger, the hot oil from the engines gives the heat to the cold fuel and preventing it from freezing and returned the oil from cooled down.Does that makes sense, this my favorite procedure to prevent the fuel from freezing. But at the -40 degrees oil becomes more viscous and can damage to the engines. In this all procedures, only aircafts which can withstand the challenges given by those extreme cold temperature and fulfill the successful flight after the cooled down process, received the cold wheather certification for the particular temperature. The aircraft introduced by Airbus is the ACJ 220 which is the business jet and can save fuel upto 20% more than the any aircafts that ever built. The main purpose of the aircraft to compute with the bombardier aircaft CS-100 The aircraft introduced by Airbus has it’s better luxury. The first company to buy the a220 aircafts is Air Canada which ordered near about 18 aircafts. The massive production of a220 is increasing according to Airbus the aircraft will be come into service at near about at the end 2022. As I already mentioned the aircraft is famous for it’s luxury here are some footage about the aircrafts pramotional videos. The aircrafts under massive production-Details about the aircraft ACJ 220-As per ACJ president ” we are proud to extend ACJ product family with the launch of ACJ220, the aircraft combines the intercontinental range unmatched personal space and comfort for all passenger this latest technology platform offers unbeatable economics And unrevalled relaliabelity. ACJ220 range is nearly about 5650 nautical miles( i.e. 10,500KM) and it has 3 times more space than it’s nearest competitor, It has less than 1/3 operating cost than it’s competitors, with providing much more comfort! And can fly 12 hr non stop. The aircraft will have inimitable mood lighting and electro-chromatic windows. As I mentioned earlier the aircraft will be very well capable of flying i […]
