The yews in Kingley Vale are ancient, some could be as much as 2000 years old. There are also tales of a group of vikings fighting to the death in the trees, and the trees themselves moving. It’s a place that has a lot of atmosphere, when we were there it was a very cold day, and freezing in the trees, and you could well believe the stories.
