Illinois, as the largest marketplace in the Midwest and home to more than two thousand corporate headquarters, a vibrant startup scene and over 1.2 million small businesses, is home to the infrastructure that businesses require to succeed in business today. The Illinois Small Business Development Center located at Southern Illinois University is funded through a collaborative arrangement between U.S. Small Business Administration, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Southern Illinois University. The Center assists entrepreneurs from the local area with help in the creation or expansion of their businesses with services that include free business planning workshops and one-on-one sessions with experienced Business Advisors and access financing options.
State officials in Indiana are insisting on employers offering higher compensation and benefits as method of keeping child care employees in the United States which is a problem due to a shortage of work. This comes following the closing of a children’s care facility located in Bronzeville where it was difficult to retain staff.
