“We all experience those days where we look (and feel!) more tired than usual. While a good night’s sleep is crucial, sometimes a little extra help is needed,” says New York dermatologist Elaine Kung, MD, and we totally agree. We asked our experts which in-office skin treatments are the best for helping you look less tired and more refreshed and revitalized.
Most experts recommend a multi-modality treatment plan curated to address the patient’s specific concerns and goals. Since there are so many non-surgical options “from lasers for resurfacing and discoloration to injectables for smoothing wrinkles and adding strategic volume,” you’ll want to discuss your options with your doctor, says Palo Alto, CA facial plastic surgeon Sachin Parikh, MD,
“Over time, these treatments can improve skin texture and tone, reduce wrinkles, tighten sagging skin, and improve the overall facial appearance,” says Dr. Parikh. However, in-office treatments are nothing without a solid skin-care regime. Consistent skin care, especially with vitamin C, can go a long way to helping the skin glow, says Dr. Parikh.

In-office skin treatments to help you look less tired
Lasers
“I advocate for a combination treatment including a vascular-specific laser to reduce facial redness and Fraxel laser to improve skin texture and reduce blotchiness/dyspigmentation,” says Washington, D.C. dermatologist Tina Alster, MD. Similarly, Monroe, LA dermatologist Janine Hopkins, MD provides “in-office, non-surgical eyelid rejuvenation for my patients using a combination of Fotona SmoothEye laser treatments to smooth, tighten and rejuvenate the delicate eyelid skin.”
Neurotoxins
Neurotoxin injections, like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau and Daxify, relax the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and frown lines, explains Dr. Kung. “These lines can make us look tired. By subtly softening these lines, neurotoxins can create a more rested, youthful appearance.” Dr. Hopkins notes that sometimes she also injects these neurotoxins into the forehead to create the appearance of a non-surgical brow lift.
Ultrasound devices
“I love Sofwave for around the eyes,” says Houston dermatologist Jennifer Segal, MD. It has no downtime, so skin looks good right away and gets even better over the next few months, she adds. Dr. Alster points to Ultherapy as a good treatment to pair with others on this list to help tighten the skin.
In-office peels
For a quick fix, Dr. Segal is a huge fan of the Glytone peels. “The eye peel looks good right away but also lifts pigment (dark circles) beautifully,” she says. “There is almost no downtime—in fact, it plumps the skin and looks fantastic!”
Filler
“As we age, we lose volume in our faces, which can contribute to us looking gaunt, hollow or tired,” says Dr. Kung. “When strategically placed by skilled hands, correcting facial volume loss [with filler] in the cheeks, temples and under-eyes may offer a refreshed and healthier appearance.”
Dr. Alster also likes incorporating filler injections to enhance the support of other treatments. Dr. Hopkins specifically notes she turns to Radiesse in the forehead to give the brows a lifted look. Dr. Parikh recommends Sculptra, a filler that helps stimulate collagen production and restore volume.
Hydrafacial
“Hydrafacials offer a multi-step treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts impurities and infuses the skin with hydrating serums. This deep cleanse can improve dull complexion, offering a brighter, more radiant appearance,” says Dr. Kung. “This is good for people who want a nice pick me up without any downtime or discomfort.”
PRP
Dr. Parikh incorporates regenerative treatments like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. Dr. Hopkins likes to follow her laser treatments with the “application of PRP in conjunction with PRP injections into the tear trough to correct the appearance of dark circles.”
OxyGeneo facials
“This is a wonderful no down-time noninvasive procedure that leaves us refreshed and rejuvenated,” says Dr. Kung. “OxyGeneo is a unique 3-in-1 treatment that combines exfoliation, oxygenation and tripolar radiofrequency delivery to stimulate cellular activity, improve circulation and enhance skin radiance.”
