I can picture the writers of this movie hammered High and drunk. And thought to themselves “hey man, imagine a world without the Beatles and someone just came outta nowhere and started playing them?!”
Hey dude … yes that was bad. Take a great song, and make it cheddar.
Out of all the versions of long and winding road; the Phil Spector version, let it be naked, Glynn John mixes – I think this is the best version.
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣 love this Sharad
How can they prove these songs were brand new?
Rangg'as in 60 Seconds.
I admire Ed Sheeran’s ability to put his ego aside and help create this awsome move.
A song with double meanings. First, about a lost love. Second, about aging.
He felt bad for making a legit musician feel low.
Remember, this is just a movie people. Jesus Christ. People taking this waaaaaay too seriously and putting way too much gravity to it. LOL IT'S A MOVIE!! Ed really wasn't jealous, he was acting.
This Beatles song would not be a hit today. The words are too dated. Today's music is much different
A world without The Beatles is a place that is so much worse
Perfect case in point, Olivia Newton-John is Taylor Swift with the hits, but she was in an era where there were hits weekend and week out, and she was just part of it
I believe that this scene illustrates the fact that for the most part -widespread, incredible hits by contemporary bands weekend and week out is over. Lazy songwriting like Ed Sheeran writes and many others is here to stay.
God, I can just feel the envy seething from Ed's character. Every little thing he does after Jack is done playing, just screams "I hate you, but I am blown away by your talent."
So embarrassing.
“That was one of the best songs I’ve ever heard ‘In My Life.’” Ayyyyoh.
Paul Simon is oozing out of ed
3:42 Ed’s disgust is palpable at his utter defeat. Solid acting on his part.
I wonder how in this movie Coldplay and ed Sheeran can exist when the Beatles not around..
The guy could’ve played “Don’t pass me by” from the white album, which is one of the weakest Beatles songs, and it would’ve been ten times better than anything Ed Sheeran could write.
Ed not the star 👍
Ed standing there while getting smoked by Jack (Lennon & McCartney) is a great scene. Rupert Grint is a really good actor.
ED must be a good guy , credit to him for knowing that he could never write a song as good as Paul McCartney
My favorite part of the movie. Came looking for this.
I always thought they made Ed a little too pretentious in this scene.
That Ed sheeran actually believes hes among the great songwriters of all time had me rolling on the floor. 😂😂
Ed Sheeran having the wherewithal to admit Paul McCartney is a better songwriter and composer than him took humility that I didn’t know someone like him would possess .
Heres another cool plot twist, ed sheeran never existed.thhats it
I always take the Beatles for granted until I see their music conceptualized. Profound genius.
How many of you skipped past the Ed Sheeran song and went straight to the real reason for watching this video?
Ironically, this is much closer to how Paul wanted it released. The orchestra was added later by Phil Spector. Paul was not happy.
I wonder how much of that scene is Ed Sheeran sharing a genuine inner fear acknowledging that he really isn't that good of a music composer.
The difference between Ed Sheeran's song and "Jack's" song for me is that it Sheeran's lacks depth and maturity in the lyrics as well as in his voice when he sings. Nothing wrong with a song of young adult love yet flourishing in the safety of their innocence, but Jack's song encompasses more than romance and love.
The bridge "Long and Winding road" evokes years of experience, of love and heartache, redemption possibly.
I think that's the point of the scene in particular as well, to compare music from the Beatles with the music of today to understand their infulence, but to also understand what makes their songs great, timeless pieces of music.
❤️❤️❤️
I would have used In My Life…… much better song.
Ed should have got Benedict Cumberbatch for that Penguin song
Competition should have no place in art.
Man I REALLY wish I would could have LOVED this movie. The whole premise is so intriguing..but the film just completely botches it and leaves you feeling completely underwhelmed! The Beatles are my favorite group of all time and I can’t dare sit through this movie ever again.
Me leva as lágrimas essa cena….❤
The premise of this scene is like something a nerdy 10 year old would write. A songwriting challenge with eD ShEeRaN where he ends saying, "I knew someday someone better than be would come along, and here you are. Someone shag him tonight" like wow
Bro the russian stranger who remembers here is ao underrated, also in the crowd at the ussr concert he looks shocked, goosebumps everytime
1:26 it was at this moment ed knew…..he f**ed up
I think, therefore I am; We are not living in a parallel or alternate world. That ed song was crap, no c-b range.
